Appraisal of Value
We take assessing the value of your property seriously. We have no set or standard rate for items, rather we appraise property based on its condition and the current market value at the time. Current market value is based on considerations including what a previously used or owned item would sell for and the value similar items have recently sold for.
It’s not uncommon for customers to bring in appraisal information with the property they’re looking for us to buy. Usually, these appraisals have been made for insurance purposes in the event something happens that would require replacement or monetary compensation should the item be lost or stolen. Consequently, the appraisal values are generally calculated based on the full retail value of the item plus an additional adjustment for inflation. They don’t account for previously owned current market value. We’re happy to look at the appraisal a customer brings in for informational purposes, but it will not affect our appraisal of an item’s worth.
